Everybody wants their own country to win, so you are not alone in your thoughts. I imagine back in the old days it would have been a surprise to see non-Westerners win, but not since 1965. I just looked up the winners and I see that Miss Philippines won it twice, and other Asians: Thailand twice, India twice, and Japan twice. I had Miss Japan in my top 3 picks in 2007 and it turned out so did the judges – she won!

I don’t think there was any problem with the judging this year. I had picked three of the top five early on. Venezuela was the obvious choice. Cosovo (the Audrey Hepburn look-alike) was stunningly beautiful as was Australia. Miss Universe is more about beauty than brains, no matter what they say.

I really don’t see much judging you could call prejudiced against any type. The only prejudice might be that Miss USA and Miss Puerto Rico win too often.

They get judged by looks not by “talking”. What guy really give a crud??? Less talk, and more

I think those shows are degrading anyway!
I wouldn’t even consider that a special talent…not like singing.
I mean, I like hot women and all, but it’s all a tease.
Who cares?!? It’s all just stupid. Everyone has their own opinion.
Just don’t care….I don’t care, so I’m not worry.
It’s not gonna kill you!
Relax, just make urself happy with American Idol and Youtube.

Sides, i want to a miss universe with one eye and purple hair!

English is the “Universal Dialect”? That’s news to me.

I do agree with you though about the Asians though. I did expect to see a few in the top 15. I wasn’t too disappointed though, being that Japan won just two years ago.

i would say because the GENERAL idea of Beauty is not shown in asians….this does not mean that i dont think asians are bad looking or anything less or more….im just saying the general public looks for something specific which the asians dont deliver…..

you will not find any money orders except on your philpost, but you can definitely get a debit card from any bank..charge it with whatever you are planning to pay and pay for your hosting through it.. if you can’t get a debit card for some reason you can get a VCC ( virtual credit card)
